This is Valee’s year.

On Thursday, Vic Mensa tapped G.O.O.D. Music’s newest signee for a new track and visual, “Dim Sum.” In the video, Valee and Mensa hop out of a very expensive-looking car in front of a Chinese restaurant. Later, we see the two—who are dressed to the nines in black suits—in the restaurant, eating with a couple girls. Chance the Rapper, Smoko Ono, and Ugly Eddie make an appearance in the video as well.

Produced by Apex Martin, and co-produced by Mike Dean and Cubeatz, “Dim Sum” features an unhurried, hypnotic beat, where the two Chicago MCs go back-to-back, and finally, share the last verse. Sonically, the beat is almost trademark Valee, as he raps in his off-kilter, subdued flow. Together, Valee and Mensa spit about what they’ve accumulated in their respective rap careers.

On Friday, Mensa is gearing up to launch his new SaveMoneySaveLife foundation at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall. The event will include a special dinner and concert, which will include performances by Jamila Woods. All proceeds will go to three programs that Mensa curated himself, which target marginalized groups in his hometown.
