Put away your platform sneakers and Spice Girls fan tees. According to Victoria Beckham aka "Posh Spice," there will be no reunion tour after all.

The beloved British pop quintet got fans all riled up last week after the members shared photos of themselves reconnecting over a lunch date. “The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together,” the group said in a joint statement to Variety. “We all agree that there are many exciting possibilities that will once again embrace the original essence of The Spice Girls, while reinforcing our message of female empowerment for future generations.”

The heartfelt chemistry in their reunion photos, coupled with their follow-up statement about working together, sparked anticipation for an upcoming reunion tour.

Well, its appears all the super fans out there jumped the gun on that one. In an interview with Vogue, Beckham shot down rumors that the Spice Girls are hitting the road on a comeback tour this year. "I’m not going on tour. The girls aren’t going on tour," she told the fashion mag during a New York Fashion Week preview of her autumn/winter 2018 collection.  “It was so great to see the girls. We had such a fun lunch. It was really, really, really lovely. I still speak to them all individually, but for us all to get together was really lovely.”

So if there's no tour in the works, why the big statement about exploring new possibilities together? According to Beckham, a "reunion" could materialize in another type of project. “There’s something so strong in the message of what the Spice Girls stood for. What is that in the future? What does that look like? We were just bouncing ideas around. Brainstorming.”

Rumors of the Spice Girls joining forces for a reunion have popped up multiple times over the past decade. Back in 2015, Mel B aka "Scary Spice" appeared on The Meredith Vieira Show claiming she had been playing “the ringleader” in trying to get her former bandmates together again. “I’m forcing them a little bit—I’ve been saying it for five years,” she said. At the time, Beckham was reportedly the only one adamantly against doing music again. Despite rumors that the show would go on without Posh, Mel told Vieira that there couldn't possibly be a reunion without all five Spices. “If we do something it has to be all of us—that’s the whole point.”

It also makes total sense that Beckham would be the first to shut down reunion rumors, being that she was always the least enthusiastic about being a pop star. The fashion designer told The Sun that she rarely even sang during live shows back in the '90s. "They used to turn [my mic] off and just let the others sing," she said.

While there's certainly no bad blood between the girls, Beckham made it clear that fashion and family are her sole priorities. Pointing to her garments prepped for her big NYFW showing, Beckham told Vogue, “This is what I do.”
