There aren't too many living enigmas like Jersey's own UNIIQU3. While many of you should've heard the acclaim she received for her infectious Jersey Club rework of Cardi B's smash "Bodak Yellow," the Newark-representing DJ/producer's making bigger moves than that. Her live shows, which regularly feature UNIIQU3 singing and dancing while DJing, have taken her from Brick City to Barcelona...literally. She's currently running through a trek through Europe (which includes her hitting Future Bounce in London tonight with Nightwave and 1Xtra's own Jamz Supernova), and took some time to chop it up with the legendary Toddla T for the radio premiere for her latest single, "Like Me."
Straight off the rip, UNIIQU3's living up to her name, letting you know that no one's like her: "Ain't no bitches like me / getting shmoney like me / getting Euros in Pari / takin Jersey overseas." Yes, that's her spitting actual facts about her current situation over her self-produced, self-released low-end thumper. Like many club anthems, it goes from a heavyweight, hypnotic trap banger into that quirky, double-time club vibe. UNIIQU3 has been around for a minute, and this tracks feels like she's properly letting the world know what they should've: she's a problem, and she isn't going anywhere but up.
