Back in April, U2 popped up as one of only three features on Kendrick Lamar's blockbuster album Damn. The rock giants appeared on the two-part cut "XXX," with Bono singing of America's status as "the sound of drum and bass" during the track's final 90-second stretch. Wednesday, U2 again joined Kendrick, this time for the latest Songs of Experience tease "Get Out of Your Own Way."
Over some reliably Edge-y guitar in the new song's final moments, Kendrick delivers a quick spoken word bit. Stream the song via Spotify below, and/or find it on the streaming service of your choice here.
Songs of Experience hits the usual outlets Dec. 1, serving as a companion piece to the band's 2014 album Songs of Innocence. The two albums will be supported on the just-announced eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour, itself a direct sequel to the band's previous iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour. If you aren't catching the William Blake vibes in these album and tour titles, then you've missed out on some serious literary bangers.
Prior to dropping the Kendrick collab Wednesday, U2 teased Songs of Experience with "The Blackout" and "You're the Best Thing About Me."
