Chris Brown Will Not Attend Batterer Intervention Classes as Originally Reported

Chris Brown is not required to attend a year of domestic violence classes after all.

A judge granted Karrueche Tran a five-year restraining order against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown last week. It was originally reported that the judge also sentenced the 28-year-old artist to a 52-week batterers intervention program, in which he would learn about domestic violence as well as how to react in a non-threatening manner.

Well, it turns out Brown will not attend those classes after all.

According to Page Six, the court issued an amended restraining order on Monday that addressed the domestic violence program. It read: “The issue was not raised at the hearing and the court makes no order for respondent to participate in a batterer intervention program.” The indicated requirement was actually a clerical error.

Tran testified last week in her case against Brown. The 29-year-old model accused the singer of aggressive behavior and sending threatening text messages, one of which reportedly read, “Bitch I will beat the shit out of you."

Brown, who was not present for the court hearing, was also ordered to pay Tran’s legal fees, which were up to $3,500.

He has continued to deny Tran’s allegations, claiming he is the one who needs to file a restraining order, and that Tran is simply slandering his name for self-promotion.
