On Monday evening, Chance the Rapper sent out a cryptic tweet that mentioned something called
"OptionCee." Fans immediately began speculating on what the Chicago rapper had up his sleeve, with many assuming it could be the title of a new music project or another show announcement.
Less than 24 hours after starting the #OptionCee hashtag, Chance finally revealed what he had in store. It’s a new website, called Radio Rapper, that can help bring his independent music to your city’s radio stations.
Here’s how it works. You got RadioRapper.com and enter the name of your city under your song of choice—either "No Problem" or "Summer Friends." Once you enter your city, the name of a local radio station will appear. You then click on the name and will be directed to a pre-formatted Tweet that will be sent to the station. It’s basically a way for Chance’s fans to show their support and let their local radio know that there’s a demand for his music. It’s simple, but a pretty genius way to get independent hip-hop finally played on mainstream stations.
You can get involved in the movement here. Chance also tweeted that the city with the most entries will get a special thank-you.
