UPDATE  June 5, 2009:

Due to severe weather, rain, and the potential for lighting, the third and final day of Governors Ball has been canceled. In an official statement, the festival organizers stated that, "The safety of fans, artists and crew always comes first," before noting, "We are just as devastated as you." Governors Ball is planning on issuing refunds to anyone who had single-day tickets to the event for Sunday, and partial-refunds for those with three-day passes. "At this time we expect all refunds to be processed within 21 days," The statement read. "All partial refunds will be based on the ticket price at which the ticket was purchased."

Governors Ball 2016 kicked off yester at Randall’s Island with three individual lineups for the entire weekend.

On Friday, attendees can catch The Strokes, Beck, Jamie xx, Big Grams (Big Boi + Phantogram), Christine and the Queens, and more. De La Soul is also set to hit the stage, and will probably perform “Pain” live for the first time. Hopefully, they do more records from their new album And the Anonymous Nobody.

On Saturday, attendees can catch The Killers, M83, HAIM, Miguel, Purity Ring, Action Bronson, Mac Miller, Thundercat and many others. To round out the weekend, Sunday’s lineup will have Kanye West, Death Cab for Cutie, Chvrches, Vince Staples, and Vic Mensa just to name a few.

For ‘Ye, he headlined the New York City festival in 2013 during the time when Yeezus just came out. With Cruel Winter’s first single debuting today, maybe Yeezy is planning a big moment with G.O.O.D. Music.

Governors Ball has teamed up with VICELAND and Live Nation TV to broadcast the music festival's headliners across all three days at 9 p.m. (EST). Tune in up top throughout the weekend to catch your favorite live sets throughout the rest of the day.
