2 Chainz and Lil Wayne have been hard at work on their ColleGrove project for a while now, and it's now been confirmed—by Kanye West—that the album is now coming later this week. Not only did Kanye share the release date, but he also tweeted out the official artwork, which shows Chainz's face with Weezy's tattoos. The cover was done by Jonathan Mannion, which he announced on his own Instagram post below.
To this point, Chainz and Wayne haven't released any music from the project, but they did debut the track "Rolls Royce Weather Everyday" during a live performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last month. The real question now is if the project will be a Tidal exclusive or be available everywhere on Friday. Previously, Wayne signed a deal with Jay Z and Tidal and released his Free Weezy Album through the service. We'll continue to update with details of the project when they're made available.
Had the extreme honor of working with my brother from day 1 @hairweavekiller and @liltunechi on this #Collegrove album cover and packaging. Heard a few tunes... ANTHEMIC! Thanks Kanye for posting the album cover! Final versions and some incredible BTS stuff coming to a feed near you!! Massive thanks to Tek for all of your help & support and Mr. Crisostomo on the image assist!
