The news of B.B. King’s death is still impacting the lives of everyone who embraced his music. Just a day after he passed away, The Associated Press has learned the cause of his death.

Dr. Darin Brimhall (King’s physician) and Clark County Coroner John Fudenberg (coroner in Las Vegas) told AP that King died of "a series of small strokes attributable to his longstanding battle with type 2 diabetes.” The medical term is called multi-infarct dementia and sometimes referred to as MID.

Brimhall says King’s stroke came from an unhealthy fluctuation in blood sugar levels. It resulted in his blood flow slowing down as a consequence of his ongoing battle with diabetes.
