Australia's really on it when it comes to the future of music, aren't they? Hometown hero George Maple's Vacant Space EP came out last year on Australian taste-making imprint Future Classic and she's working on new music with Flume and others at the moment. "Talk Talk," a beautiful pop cut that had Maple's name buzzing last fall, got an impressively intimate remix from another Australian talent, Ta-ku, who has remixed Childish Gambino, released material on Ultra Music, and has been on the rise over the last few years.
Known more for his boom-bap and fuzzy electronic rhythms, Ta-ku takes a much more subdued approach on "Talk Talk," letting the beauty of Maple's material shine through his hazy lens. This isn't turn the club up material; it's more suited for the late nights and early mornings, with or without bae.
