Nicki Minaj has been winning these past few days by releasing a pair of songs; the Sir Mix-a-Lot sampling "Anaconda" and the unexpected remix to Beyoncé's "Flawless." Beyoncé kinda killed the song ("Of course sometimes shit go down/When it's a billion dollars on an elevator"), but either way, Nicki Minaj was all anyone could talk about this weekend. Good for her.
Meanwhile, Lil Kim, a rapper who we only seem to discuss in relation to Nicki Minaj, decided to drop a "Flawless" remix of her own. Kim's version is the same as Nicki's remix, but right after Nicki rhymes, "Slap these hoes on they ass like we birthing bitches/The queen of rap, slaying with Queen B," Kim cuts in with, "Am I tripping or did this hoe just say my name?/Queen of rap, fuck outta here."
Now, the obvious interpretation of Nicki's line is she's just calling herself the queen of rap (which she is, and if you don't think so, just head your delusional ass over to the comments), and she's shouting out Beyonce with the Queen B—even though she actually goes by King B. But a rap conspiracy theorist would point out that Lil Kim actually gave birth to a daughter this past June, which just might make the "birthing bitches" line the magic bullet in this whole verse.
But then we remember, who gives a shit? Nicki probably did make a passing reference to Kim in her verse. But it wasn't when she said "Queen B"; it was when she said, "These bitches washed up and ain’t no fucking soap involved."
UPDATE: Looks like the Barbs, the BeyHive, and the Internet at large has teamed up to ether Kim because #LilKimGiveUp is now a trending topic on Twitter (as is the term "Lil Kim.") Here's a few choice tweets.
