With Bobby Shmurda's "Hot Nigga" starting to buzz across the country, his label GS9 Entertainment released a mixtape called Shmoney Shmurda. Both "Hot Nigga" and "Shmoney Dance" are included on the project, which also has appearances from Rowdy Rebel, Abilliion, and Dwagavelli. Shmoney Shmurda incorporates elements of Chicago drill and Southern trap into an East New York ruggedness. It also shows tremendous range, with mellower songs like "One Chance" rounding out the project. The GS9 Entertainment movement might not appeal to purists, but they do offer something different from regular New York rappers. Listen to the mixtape below.
