The head-scratching saga of Young Thug and his apparent "free agency" continues today, as Billboard reports the Atlanta rapper is still signed to 1017 Brick Squad, an imprint of Asylum/Atlantic Records. A representative of Atlantic recently contacted the magazine regarding their listing of Thug's single "Stoner" on the Hot 100 chart, which at the time had no label provided in its description. According to Billboard, the label is currently pushing the single to radio and requested that Young Thug's "Stoner" be properly credited.

This news comes a few weeks after Thugger announced he was signed to Cash Money Records. That was shortly debunked by a representative of Birdman, who stated there was no deal made between Cash Money and the 21-year-old rapper. More recently, Mack Maine described Young Thug's relationship with their label as close, saying Cash Money has "adopted" the rapper.

Even so, the fact that Young Thug would knowingly make such a proclamation is odd considering his status with 1017 Brick Squad—founded by Gucci Mane, who was allegedly dropped by Atlantic in September—and Atlantic hasn't changed.

In late January, Complex published an interview with Young Thug, in which the rapper was mulling over a possible deal with Future and his Freebandz imprint. What's it like to be the hottest free agent with a deal? Just ask Young Thug.

Complex reached out for comment, but were only given the answer "Yes" to whether 1017 Brick Squad is still an imprint of Asylum/Atlantic.
