We were alerted of this feat via Giorgio Moroder's Facebook post, but word has come from Columbia that Daft Punk's fourth studio album, Random Access Memories, has hit platinum certification, which would be Daft Punk's first platinum album. With the hype over the first half of 2013, and the power of "Get Lucky," it makes sense; this means that Random Access Memories is their most-successful album, beating out the sales of Discovery and Homework, which both reached gold (although Discovery was last seen hovering around the 800,000 sold mark). This is a great birthday gift for Guy-Manuel, who recently turned 39-years-old.
