Wale's third studio album, The Gifted, debuted last Tuesday, June 25. Now, the album has been confirmed as the best-selling LP of its debut week. With 158,000 copies moved, the album beat out the sophomore sales of Kanye West's Yeezus and J. Cole's Born Sinner. This is Wale's first No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Meanwhile, sales of Yeezus dropped 80 percent in its second week. After debuting on top of things with 327,000 copies moved, only 65,000 were sold this past week. The record-breaking decline might be a result of Yeezus’ divisive nature, as West’s similarly polarizing My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy suffered a 78 percent dip in 2010.
