As an artist who has frequently taken to Twitter to directly communicate with fans, Talib Kweli decided to once again use the social media platform to announce a new release date for the album: May 7. Talib cited sample clearance issues as the reason for the push back.
This comes on the heels of dropping his latest track, "Come Here," featuring Miguel, earlier this week. Hopefully the new date does not serve as a setback for the momentum of the record, which is extremely smooth.
I know I've said April 23rd was the release date for #POC but we couldn'tmake that (sample issues). We are locked in for May 7th...— Talib Kweli Greene (@TalibKweli) April 14, 2013
May 7th is official release date. No more delays. No turning back. #POC start your engines— Talib Kweli Greene (@TalibKweli) April 14, 2013
Prisoner of Conscious is my fifth solo studio album. Many MCs don't get this far. I am truly blessed. Thank you. May 7th!— Talib Kweli Greene (@TalibKweli) April 14, 2013
