Seven years after his untimely death, we’re still getting new J Dilla material. Today Stones Throw Records released a Dilla’s instrumentals for Frank-N-Dank’s debut LP, 48 Hours. As Stones Throw notes, “an un-mastered and poorly packaged 48 Hours CD made its way into the marketplace in the mid 2000’s, to the disappointment of many,” but now Dilla’s beats are available on vinyl in all their glory.
The label posted a stream of track 12, “Ma Dukes,” and if it’s any indication, the record is a lost classic. Listen to that below and grab a copy of the album on Stones Throw now.
