With Bilal's new album, A Love Surreal, coming February 26, the experimental R&B crooner is taking us behind the scenes of the recording process. He speaks on how the whole thing came together, including some great tidbits about his live band and his mother.
For example, he explains that he and his players, who have worked together for eight years, would go into the studio to jam on one track, but then they would end up recording something completely different. As a result, he got a solid handful of new songs out of it all beyond the ones he was already planning.
