Stemming from a 2010 lawsuit won by lawfirm Hendricks & Lewis, George Clinton has lost the rights to four of his songs. This ruling was made in order to pay back a $1.5 million debt, $340,000 of which has only been collected since the court's decision three years ago.

The four songs he lost are “Hardcore Jollies,” “The Electric Spanking of War Babies,” “Uncle Jam Wants You," and “One Nation Under A Groove.” H&L can sell and use the music in any way they please to make up the money they're owed. Once the debt is paid off, George will not receive the rights, but he's currently seeking to overturn this in court.
