Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to rehab after having an on-stage meltdown on Friday night at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. After a warning sign showed that Green Day had one minute left in their set, Billie Joe stopped playing and went on a rant filled with cursing and hostility, pissed off because he thought his band's time was cut short for other acts on the bill. He then took his guitar and smashed it repeatedly.

Brian Bumbery, Green Day's rep, released a statement saying, "Green Day would like everyone to know that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those they offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. The band regretfully must postpone some of their upcoming promotional appearances." Billie Joe's rep Edna Gundersen also stated that he is checking into rehab and "seeking treatment for substance abuse."

Green Day's new album Uno drops this Tuesday, and they are set to go on tour nationwide this November. Watch the video of Billie Joe's meltdown above.
