Joey Bada$$ is getting ready to put out his highly anticipated debut solo mixtape 1999, and today, he releases a video for a brand new song off it, "Hardknock," featuring Pro.Era crew member CJ Fly. This is the epitome of modern-day, boom bap New York rap, as Joey shows off his lyrical abilities and deep thought process over a hard hitting beat. And CJ Fly adds on, hopping in for the second verse and chorus to give the song even more depth. It's a nod to the Golden Era of the 90's, from the visuals to the production, but with a fresh style and updated take on the trials and tribulations of life in The Rotten Apple. 1999 drops June 12.
