Boomshots Breaks Down The Sample On G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy"

So you know the other voice you heard on the new G.O.O.D. Music single, "Mercy"? No, we're not talking about Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, or Pusha T. It's that attention-grabbing, dancehall vocal that kicks off the track. Yeah, now you get it.

Well, Complex's own Rob Kenner broke down at the sample at Boomshots for everyone left scratching their heads. It turns out that the voice belongs to the late Fuzzy Jones, who's well-known for his bravado-laced intros in the reggae/dancehall world. This particular snippet comes from Super Beagle’s "Dust A Soundboy," which, like "Mercy," kicks off with Jones talks his shit for a good 20 seconds or so.

Head to Boomshots for the full breakdown and a transcription of exactly what Jones is saying.
