For the past seven years, the Grammy Awards have had no host, but they've decided to shake things up in 2012 with the announcement that LL Cool J will be the official host of the event, going down at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 12.

Past hosts in the show's 54 year history include Queen Latifah, Jon Stewart, Ellen Degeneres, and Rosie O'Donnell. LL is a two-time Grammy winner, but this will be his first time stepping up to take on hosting duties.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of music’s biggest night,” says LL. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music – it's going to be a great night."
