Looking to teach the youth about hip-hop but just don't know how? Well, Brooklyn artist James Shields is here to help. He's put together the five-volume Hip Hop Coloring Book series that aims to educate and bring out the creative side in youngsters. Each volume will feature a different era in hip-hop's history, with the first featuring legends like DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, and Kurtis Blow.
As Shields told The New York Daily News, "It’s a mix of classic activities and creative exercises, all intertwined with the history of hip hop. People forget that hip hop as a culture is not just about money and ego. It’s an art form that can provide kids with self esteem and identity. It promotes individuality."
