Wiz Khalifa's 25 Favorite Rap Albums

Today, Wiz Khalifa drops his major label debut, Rolling Papers. Although he has dropped albums before (albeit, independent ones) this one is obviously a much bigger deal. Especially because he's coming off a no. 1 smash hit with "Black and Yellow." As Wiz makes his bid for scoring his first no. 1 album, Complex caught up with our current coverboy to talk about his 25 favorite rap albums. Find out about why Dipset was a huge influence on him, which one of his smoking buddies makes a number of appearances on his list, and why his dad took away his DMX CD.

I haven't been too impressed with this kid yet. His songs are ok, but weak in the lyrics. After seeing his top 25, it all makes sense. All that Cam and Dipset? Picking Jay over Nas? No Eminiem on there? No thanks Wiz.

@Jesse No why would Eminem be on that list. What has he ever done to deserve to be on a top 25 albums-list? Personally I can't stand his wack beats(the beats he makes that is), corny voice, and shallow and cheesy lyrics. But that's just me I guess. About the list I think it's pretty solid. Illmatic, Aquemini, Supreme Clientele, 36 Chambers, Reflection Eternal, Doggystyle etc. Then of course there's some picks I wouldn't choose myself but all in all pretty solid list.

You're an idiot. You shouldn't assume that the rap skill of somebody should automatically boost them higher in terms of how much somebody likes them. That's what I like Wiz tbh, he may not bring much to the table in terms of lyrics, but the general sound of his music is something I enjoy. People need to quit hating on the subject matter of a song or talking about "oh Rapper2 is better than Rapper3" whenever somebody says they prefer one or the other. Now if Wiz had gone "JAY-Z IS A WAAAAAAAY BETTER RAPPER THAN NAS" then you'd have something to bitch about.

why would eminem be on there? eminem is my favorite artist of all time but this is Wiz's top 25 not the best 25 or anything so maybe Wiz wasnt influenced or doesnt really feel any of Eminems stuff.

pretty solid picks, but it won't get me to check out Wiz music. Nas will always be greater than Jay, and eminiem is for white people

I agree with your comments 100% but I think Wiz really is worth checking for, download that Kush and OJ mixtape homes shit is real smooth except track number 3.

wiz khalifas new cd will grow on you but if youre an old school fan like me, his music is not the same. check out kush and oj, and flight school. those are my favorite mixtapes
