#16: Goodie Mob f/ Backbone "I Refuse Limitation"

#16: Goodie Mob f/ Backbone "I Refuse Limitation"

Released: 1998
It's the ability to convey, and then overcome, pain that remains Organized's greatest strength and separates them from so many of their peers. Here they strip their sound to its barest and most emotive elements, making room for a spine-chilling Cee-Lo verse where he bounces from minimum wage to hustling to the penitentiary in just a few bars.

Though I really don't agree with your picks . . . pretty much at all. I am glad that this much underrated production crew is finally getting some shine. They're right up their in the top 10 all-time production camps, yet people talk about the Timberlands, Neptunes, and Dr. Dre's because they make "pop" records.

You barely scratched the surface of their catalog. And I agree with Pres, there are a lot of doper tracks you could've put up there...but they are gettin shine regardless.

"Barely scratching the surface" is what you do when you make a list. I dig. Nice work.

yeah but it's titled "The 25 Greatest," which this list does not comprise.

I don't really agree with rest of the commenters. I thought it was a pretty solid list with both obvious and not so obvious joints in the mix.

With a catalog this vast, there's no way to get deep unless you have a top 50+ list. I love that they are getting spotlight because they are by far the most musical innovative production crew in hip hop! They are a major reason people saw hip hop as music!
