Daytona Beach Police said a note referencing Black Lives Matter and the recent fatal police shootings of of black men Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minn. was found near a burning police car in Florida. Here’s the thing: Twitter doesn’t believe it.

Daytona Beach Police reported getting a call of a car fire Sunday at 2:30 a.m. according to the Associated Press. The car ablaze was actually a marked Daytona Beach police car parked in front of the Islamic Center of Daytona Beach. The fire was put out by fire crews and no one was injured reported News 6.

Police Chief Mike Chitwood told News 6 the patrol car was parked next to the Islamic Center as part of an increase of patrols both with cars and on foot.

A note was found near the burning car scene reported News 6. Chief Chitwood told News 6 the handwritten note mentioned both the Black Lives Matter movement and an “A. Sterling” (Alton Sterling) and “P. Castile” (Philando Castile). Below it the note read “Fuck the police.”

Sterling and Castile deaths were followed by the Dallas shooting in which five police officers were killed by a gunman during a Black Lives Matter protest. They were also followed by Sunday’s killing of three police officers and wounding of several others in Baton Rouge by a gunman.

Audio of the 911 call revealed the caller said he didn’t see who set the car on fire.

“No, I just heard a bam, a boom, like something slammed and then I went outside and saw the car burning,” the caller said.

“It’s hard to police when someone is so fanatical about a cause they know they’re going to die and they know they’re going to take out as many people as they can in the process,” Chief Chitwood told News 6.

As mentioned earlier, Twitter users didn’t buy the story and so they voiced they’re doubts.
