A Million Hoodies March for Trayvon Martin Happens Tonight in Union Square

People are taking a stand about Trayvon Martin’s murder, with the goal of showing the world that this could've happened to anyone. In New York, protesters will all wear hoodies.

InterOccupy has planned this Million Hoodies March for Trayvon Martin at Union Square in New York City this evening. Below, you’ll find all of the details:

1 million hoodies, 1 million signatures on Change.org… Show the world we are all Trayvon.

1. WEAR YOUR HOODIE ON WEDNESDAY 3/21 and upload a pic to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #millionhoodies.

3. SIGN THE CHANGE.ORG PETITION – started by Trayvon’s parents. Currently at 530,000 signatures, we can move the needle to 1 million this week!

2. JOIN US IN NYC – Throw on your hoodies and come gather in Union Square to show your support for justice for Trayvon Martin!

A black person in a hoodie isn’t automatically “suspicious”. Let’s put an end to racial profiling!

**WEDNESDAY, March 21st is the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

MARCH ON UNION SQUARE!

“We must, individually and collectively, stamp out racism, stigma and prejudice.” Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon Message for the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination 2012

Not in NYC? Check-in to show your support or organize a march in your city!

Spike Lee sent out a tweet requesting info, so expect a large showing. If you aren’t able to make it, here are other ways you can show support.
