With Jay and Kanye namedropping multiple luxury hotels over the course of their Watch the Throne record, it's safe to say that everyone not already on board with hotel bars will now be clamoring to drink at one. They make great sense. Getting a drink in a place where maybe you'll be crashing later—no brainer. Also, there's the suggestion of sex. You buy a lady a drink with the knowledge that there is floor after floor of beds right above the both of you.

But you need to know where to go. Please, no applause—here are the 50 Best Hotel Bars in the U.S.

I cannot believe that Departure at The Nines hotel in Portland, Oregon isn't listed. That place is far more beautiful than some of the ones listed on here. http://www.departureportland.com/gallery

Any list that does not contain the Sip-N-Dip (located inside of the O'Haire Motor Inn in Great Falls, MT) is not worthy of consideration.

It would have been nice to see more traditional/historic hotel bars on the list. I know the W is hot in the streets, but the Coq d'Or in the Drake Hotel in Chicago has more history than all the drunk and hot girls in the W's put together! :) Lots of W's on this list too, I'm just sayin....Also, what are the cocktail menus and drinking styles like in the different hotels? I tried to add on the convo, check me out at http://thecongenialhour.tumblr.com/post/9645749040/50-best-hotel-bars-complex-magazine

It's not the rich and famous who are there. It's those who would be your friends are there. And if you are there merely to see and be seen..... you need a life!
