Canadian artist Chris McVeigh is an illustrator, photographer, designer, and author, but he’s really a kid at heart. In one of his recent projects, he renders outdated technology out of LEGO blocks. From really old PCs to Polaroid cameras, this Lego series covers every majorly important technological innovation that’s occurred since Alexander Graham Bell created the telephone. It’s unclear whether it’s the subject matter, the medium, or the custom-designed backdrops that make these images so nostalgic, but there is something really comforting about them.

If the photos aren’t enough for you, get your own LEGO-kit or open-source plan from the artist himself, and make your own at home.
