The Future of Music Sampling, Black Thought EP, 'King of NY' Debate Continues | Everyday Struggle

On Thursday’s (Nov. 29)  episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, DJ Akademiks and Wayno discuss French Montana’s recent interview with L.A.’s 92.3 where the “Unforgettable” rapper says that as long as Jay-Z is living, 6ix9ine cannot be considered King of New York. The trio then breaks down the elements needed for a rapper to consider themselves a king of their region, and compare the movements of Chief Keef and A$AP Mob to the one crated by 6ix9ine and Treyway. Afterwards, Akademiks provides an exclusive clarification on the drama between 6ix9ine and clothing company Fashion Nova. Later in the episode, Wayno and Ak share their reactions to Black Thought’s Salaam Remi-prodcued EP, ‘Streams of Thought Vol. 2,’ which dropped earlier this week. Both hosts have a positive review on the project and consider it one of the best releases of 2018. To close out the show, the EDS crew answers a fan question regarding rap samples in the future.
