Ninja has become the biggest video game streamer in the world. Formally known as Richard Tyler Blevins, Ninja has built a prosperous career by becoming a professional video game player and streaming his Fornite matches on Youtube. Before he took the Fornite world by storm, he first got his start in 2009 by playing Halo. Nearly a decade later, Ninja went on to join Luminosity Gaming in 2017 where he began playing the game PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG). Now more exposed, in addition to tournament events, he’s made a name for himself by gaming and spending time with a number of celebrities like Drake, Travis Scott, and Juju Smith-Schuster. In 2018, he partnered with Red Bull Esports and later was featured as the first professional gamer to grace the cover of ESPN The Magazine. After the cover was released, his price went up again, earning him enough popularity on Youtube and Twitter to drop a curated electronic gaming album that features Alesso and 3LAU, and multiple TV appearances from Superbowl ads to The Masked Singer. Now gaming on Microsoft’s live-stream gaming channel Mixer, Ninja was able to ink a deal with Adidas in the summer of 2019. Not only can fans expect the continuance of his streams, but they can now also expect some new Ninja-flavored merch to rock. In real time, we’re watching Ninja become one of the biggest video game players in the history of pop culture.
