Jussie Smollett Arrested for Faking Hate Crime, Hip Hop Guilty of Appropriation? | Everyday Struggle

On Thursday’s (Feb. 21) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks open the show discussing Michale Rapaport’s apology to meek Mill after the actor called the Philly spitter “trash.” The crew then shifts their focus to the biggest and most bizarre story in a long time—Jussie Smollett’s allege assault, which now turns out to be a complete hoax orchestrated by the ‘Empire’ actor. Ak and Wayno share their take on Jussie’s wild story and predict what will happen next with the Fox actor. After this topic, the EDS squad talks about Burberry’s insensitive hoodie noose sweater that sparked a backlash against the high end brand, and made rapper T.I. add Burberry to his list of brands that are being boycotted. Later in the episode, the crew shares their thoughts on 2 Chainz’s claims against Nike. Apparently the ATL rapper feels like the Swoosh ripped him off with their latest colorway of the Nike Zoom Fly SP. To close out the week’s episode, the Everyday Struggle hosts answer a fan question about culture appropriation in rap.
