During a recent interview with Willamette Week of Portland, Trail Blazer center Robin Lopez was questioned regarding his geekiest purchase since being in the NBA.
What’s the geekiest thing you’ve bought since being in the NBA that you’ve spent a lot of money on?
"It wasn’t too expensive. Nike and Michael J. Fox partnered to put out the Air McFlys on eBay. I did get a pair of those for, like, $20,000."
Of course you remember the Air Mags, one of the most hyped sneakers of all time. Back in 2011 those with significantly deep pockets had their shot at copping the iconic Marty McFly kicks, which are still going for quite the pretty penny today. If you were looking to score a pair right this second, you could do so from Flight Club for a cool $7,250.
Oh, and sneakerheads, don't be offended by the association of "geeky" with the Air Mags, alright? Nonetheless, kudos, Robin. But what does Brook have?
