Wednesday marks the 25th anniversary of the premiere of the Nick Jr. classic Blue’s Clues, an occasion big enough to result in the return of none other than original host Steve Burns.

A newly released video features Steve—who also serves as the clip’s director—linking up with fellow Blue’s Clues alum Donovan Patton and Blue’s Clues & You! star Josh Dela Cruz. Joining these familiar faces in the clip, which is available in full up top, are fans from several different generations of the show.

In another clip, seen below, Steve (notably in character) addressed his exit all those years ago with a touching message.

“I never forgot you, ever, and I’m super glad we’re still friends,” Steve said.

Blue’s Clues is hands down one of the most successful and critically acclaimed preschool TV shows in history, and we’re so proud that Nickelodeon has been its home for the last 25 years,” Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation, added in a recent press release. “The series’ creativity, interactivity and inclusivity has stood the test of time and we are continuing to empower, challenge, and build the self-esteem of a new generation of preschoolers with a brand-new Blue’s Clues & You! movie and multiple upcoming seasons of the series in our Animation Studio pipeline.”

Blue’s Clues originally ran for six seasons. In 2002, Steve Burns was replaced by Donovan Patton as the new host.
