For everyone still interested in behind-the-scenes Star Wars affairs more than 40 years after the fact, this week has been a doozy. Excerpts from Carrie Fisher's forthcoming book The Princess Diarist revealed at the top of the week that nearly every rumor we've ever heard about her relationship with Harrison Ford was true. But the latest excerpt, shared by Page Six Wednesday, suggests their cover was nearly blown by Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill.

"Once, on one of the rare occasions when we did have a sleepover at Harrison's apartment, Mark... dropped by unannounced," Fisher writes in the latest excerpt. The time was roughly 11 a.m., meaning Hamill probably knew exactly what was going on. "Clearly I hadn't just dropped by for brunch," Fisher explains. To ease the tension, Fisher notes that Ford took her hand and "solemnly declared" they were engaged.

"It was hiding in plain sight," Fisher writes, "mocking the suggestion there was anything going on... a technique I like to use to this day."

As a fun bonus, Fisher then goes on to describe Ford as someone who could have been the "leader of the gluten-free world." Amazing. As she revealed in previous Princess Diarist excerpts, their three-month affair certainly had its moments. "It was so intense," Fisher toldPeople of the fling that kicked off on the set of the original Star Wars. "It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend." But why reveal it now? As Fisher explained, the time is right simply because, well, 1976 was a really long time ago. "It's been 40 years," she said.
