Though Caitlyn Jenner may have thrust the transgender conversation into the mainstream with I Am Cait, her public struggle is far from indicative of the still pervasive difficulties faced by the reported 700,000 transgender people in the United States each day. With landmark moments for equality seemingly on the cusp of reality, the very real discrimination against trans men and women continues to highlight the need for this conversation to continue.

In the final episode of a three-part Complex original series, we hear from three couples on the unique challenges facing their relationships and how they've managed to deal with discrimination from friends, family, and even complete strangers. "Any guy that's out there that's in love or interested in any trans woman, don't fear what [other people] have to say," one participant tells us when asked about giving advice for younger transgender couples.
