Despite the fact that he was caught on camera brutally body-slamming a fellow classmate after an apparent history of violent encounters, several students at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina decided to stage a walkout in support of Ben Fields on Friday morning. The walkout, which was apparently staged to show some form of support for the now-fired deputy, reportedly included "hundreds of students," according to WIS.

Some students were seen wearing homemade "Free Fields" and "#BringBackFields" t-shirts, with school officials confirming that the walkout was "small and orderly" and apparently provided very little disruption at all.

After Jeff Temoney, the school’s principal, told participating students they wouldn’t be suspended if they simply returned to class, the walkout came to its inevitable conclusion. It’s probably worth noting that a massive group of students staging a walkout in the middle of class will receive no discipline whatsoever, while the student in the video above was brutally body-slammed by a large adult for briefly using her phone.
