Well, this is a huge bummer.

After a whole mess of business decisions gone bad that have led him to the brink of financial ruin, Burt Reynolds is auctioning off a whole bunch of his personal items in order to help make ends meet. Among the items you can have for the right price: his jacket from Smokey and the Bandit II, his Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe for Boogie Nights, and a motorized stagecoach used in his wedding to Loni Anderson in 1988 (they divorced in 1993).

Downplaying his need for cash, Reynolds says in the foreword to the auction catalog that “I've collected so many things that I truly adore but at this stage in my life I find it very difficult to manage them all. The fact of the matter is that it truly is the time to downsize and for these items that I have loved over the years find new homes where they can be cared for and appreciated.”

The 78-year-old has had a bunch of health problems and has been through public bankruptcy proceedings, so sadly he’s really fooling anybody. Hopefully, he doesn’t have to sell his signature mustache.
