The character of Supergirl may not be the most familiar in the pantheon of DC heroes, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t get her own TV series.

DC has been blitzing TV viewer with the characters, bringing Arrow, The Flash, and iZombie to The CW, Gotham to FOX, and Constantine to NBC. The Supergirl series is going to fourth network: CBS.

Yes, a network known largely for its middle aged demographic and as the place for all procedural dramas and cookie cutter comedies is taking on a superhero franchise. CBS has already committed to a full series order, meaning that the show is definitely happening.

While no casting has been announced as of yet, that speculation will certainly come next. Hopefully, CBS goes with someone a little younger than their average viewer.
