This is what happens when serious vocal talent meets way too much time on your hands -- and it's kind of beautiful.

YouTube channel Triforce Films put together this supercut of the best a cappella performances of classic video game music (which is, apparently, a thing on the internet).

The video titled "The Evolution of Video Games - A Cappella Edition" starts in the '80s with Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros. and Tetris, moving through the decades and various consoles to Sonic the Hedgehog,  Pokemon, Resident Evil, Halo and others.
