WWE belt-holder John Cena is about to graduate from Vince McMahon-backed straight-to-DVD cinema. Mr. Cenation is set to join Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in the comedy The Nest. Though details are scarce, World Wrestling Entertainment's perpetual “good guy” of Worldwide Wrestling Entertainment is said to be the movie's villain, according to Deadline.
The Nest is a comedy about two sisters who throw one last party in their parents' home that's up for sale. Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) will direct; Fey, meanwhile, will pull double duty, also producing the film via her company, Little Stranger, Inc.
The heavyweight cast also includes James Brolin, Ike Barinholtz, Fey and Poehler's fellow SNL veteran Maya Rudolph, and John Leguizamo. As for Cena, The Nest won't be his first time flexing his comedy muscles; he's currently filming a supporting role in Judd Apatow’s Trainwreck, starring Amy Schumer.
The Nest is scheduled for December 18, 2015.
