Machinima—an online video network well-known among videogamers and fanboys—announced today that they’ll be launching a new drama series entitled Chop Shop on their Prime Channel.
Chop Shop tells the story of Porter (John Bregar), a car thief who has just been released following a five year prison sentence. He faces numerous issues both personal (trying to win over his former girlfriend, played by Ana Ayora, as well as their five-year-old son he barely knows) and professional (his former partner, played by Rene Moran, is a classic “bad influence”). Soon, Porter realizes that the only way to carve out the new life for himself that he wants is to get back into the business that put him in jail in the first place.
Machinima’s Vice President of Scripted Content Andy Shapiro says that “Chop Shop continues Machinima’s push to deliver our audience top level scripted series. We can’t wait to see how the audience will react as the story unfolds week after week.”
Also involved in the project is Robert Patrick, whom you may remember as the T-1000 from Terminator 2 and numerous other memorable performances on The Sopranos, The X-Files, and True Blood, to name a few. We've got an exclusive teaser above, and you can check out the series premiere when it hits Machinima’s YouTube channel on July 18.
