Live by Night, a drama starring, written, and directed by Ben Affleck, is being pushed back nearly a full year from December 2015 to October 2016. This Deadline report does not indicate why, but it’s a safe bet to assume that Affleck’s other commitments such as the new Batman vs. Superman film have gotten in the way.
Live by Night is an adaptation of a novel by Dennis Lehane (Gone Baby Gone), and features Affleck as the son of a cop in 1926 and a man whose career involves ascending the ladder of organized crime, bootlegging, and many other illegal activities. The role seems perfect for Affleck, who lately has turned to a life of crime himself, it seems.
The film is being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran, and will co-star Julie Krol.
