After months of deliberation and fear over future Sriracha production, a California city decided to drop the lawsuit against the Huy Fong Foods factory.

Last night, City Council in Irwindale, Calif. voted unanimously to drop the public nuisance complaint and accompanying lawsuit which claimed that the plant was responsible for polluting the air with an offensive odor that even resulted in health problems in the most extreme situations.

David Tran, founder of Huy Fong, promised council members that the company would do whatever necessary to make sure the plant is no longer hazardous to the city of Irwindale.

Perhaps this will put a damper on Tabasco's attempt to quietly sneak into the Sriracha game.
