A new app is purporting to give users some reprieve from awkwardly running into their exes. The app, fittingly named Split, culls public geolocation data from users' Facebook, Instagram, Foursquare and Twitter accounts and let's you know when they're nearby. The app highlights the locations of specific people you'd like to avoid while pointing out which neighborhoods are 'danger zones' that are often frequented by your exes.

Or you could the grown up thing and, you know, duck behind a tree or a trash can every time you spot someone you don't want to talk to.

Still, it isn't as creepy as it sounds. "It doesn’t provide new information that would, in your example, help you ‘stalk’ someone,” CEO Udi Dagan told BetaBeat.

Split, which describes itself as a "the antisocial app," is available for free in the iTunes and Google Play stores.
