One of the biggest complaints about Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has to do with the fact that the show has completely downplayed the larger superhero world around it. Despite having access to nearly every Marvel character in the library, we've only seen a couple of these heroes and villains so far on the show. Thankfully the company is looking to fix that by featuring Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif in an upcoming episode, according to Marvel. Alexander has played Sif in the last two Thor movies, and she will be the first major Marvel movie character to appear on the show since Nick Fury’s cameo at the beginning of the season.

Unfortunately Marvel hasn’t revealed what Sif’s role will be in the episode, but it might pick up on the previous Asgardian threads from earlier in the season. Either way, it’s good to see Alexander making a comeback as Sif, especially since she has been shortchanged in both Thor movies. The bigger question is whether or not her role will usher in more appearances from Marvel heavy hitters like Captain America or Iron Man. We can always hope, right?
