The Weinstein Company has its eyes set on television development and their current plans bode well for fans of Frank Miller's acclaimed graphic novel series Sin City, and its equally acclaimed movie adaptation courtesy of Robert Rodriguez. TWC plans to develop a Sin City show in time to launch on the heels of Rodriguez's sequel, A Dame to Kill For, currently set for August. Of course, that would mean believing the perenially delayed Dame is actually coming out then, but either way, the TV format would suit Miller's stories beautifully, perhaps more so than film, especially on a cable network with few graphic limitations. And with Basin City as the only real main character, the room for expansion past Miller's seven novels is limitless.
In addition, TWC also revealed early talks with Frank Darabont to make a ten-installment miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's The Mist, which he previously brought to life on the big screen with Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden.
