Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, was recently a guest on Giantbomb's Interview Dumptruck podcast. While that fact is intersting as a stand alone, Yoshida confirmed that the PS4 will eventually support MP3 music files and DLNA media streaming some time after launch.
The recent announcement that PlayStation 4 would not play back MP3s, or allow DLNA media streaming through the new console pissed a large percentage of the internet off. Someone should have explained to Mr. Yoshida how the internets get down these days.
During the podcast Yoshida admitted that "there were so many people who passionately reacted to our announcement that there's no MP3 support and DLNA support on day one."
You see? The Twitter can change the world. No date was given as to when the DLNA and MP3 support would begin.
