Wanton disregard for public safety has ruined this man's life, and possibly his marriage. On Oct. 16, 37-year-old Austin Dawkins was captured by a gas station surveillance camera fooling around with a cigarette lighter near his vehicle's gas tank.
The Clarkesville, Ga. native continued to play with the lighter near the pump until the fuel suddenly caught fire, engulfing his 30-year-old wife, Jessica. She suffered severe burns and had to be flown to a burn unit in Atlanta, which she has since been released from.
Though Austin Dawkins only suffered minor injuries from his moronic mistake, he was charged with reckless conduct and could face up to a year in jail if convicted. He's already guilty of being a complete idiot.
